ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — At Rockland's annual Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony, Rockland resident Robert Reidy was remembered in particular. Reidy, a lifelong Rocklander and NYPD officer, died in 2019 of cancer associated with his work at Ground Zero after the terrorist attack of Sept. 11, 2001. His name has been added to the memorial monument, and NYPD First Deputy Commissioner Edward A. Caban was the keynote speaker at the ceremony. Reidy graduated from Clarkstown High School South in 1983. He married Barbara on July 6, 1991 at Saint Peters Church in West Haverstraw. He proudly served for the NYPD for 22 years and was a first responder on 9/11. "Robert J. Reidy will forever be etched into a monument that remembers our counties law enforcement officers who gave their lives in service to others. We will never forget NYPD Police Officer Robert J. Reidy," county officials said on YouTube. You can visit the Rockland County Law Enforcement Memorial on the grounds of the County Court House in New City.
