PLAINFIELD, IL — A long-time Plainfield educator will move into a new role after the Board of Education approved Plainfield South High School administrator Liz Massaro as District 202's new student services director of private placement. Massaro has spent her entire 14-year career in special education at District 202 and started with the district as a teacher at Plainfield North High School in 2008. She remained at the school until 2017 before moving into a job as an elementary special education administrator from 2017 to 2019 and moved to her current role at Plainfield South High School in 2019. Massaro also has served as a site supervisor for the Extended School Year program each summer since 2016, the district announced in a news release on Tuesday. "Liz's experience in all grades from preschool to high school, her experience with specialized programs, and her knowledge of programming for our 18-to-22-year-olds make her an excellent candidate for this position," Mina Griffith, assistant superintendent for student services, said in a news release. Massaro's appointment was approved at the board's meeting on Monday night. She replaces Jason Stanley in the role and will begin her new position on July 1, the district said.
