Do you love art and want to make a difference in people's lives? CTF Illinois is seeking an Art Instructor to develop and implement art instruction programs for individuals with developmental disabilities. The Art Instructor will select and use materials and interventions appropriate to individuals’ needs, and design activities to achieve therapeutic and vocational goals and objectives as directed by state and federal regulations and in accordance with the mission of the organization. Essential Job Functions: Design and provide art instruction activities and programming to enhance each individual's skill development, health, freedom, and personal dignity.Support self-advocacy and self-determination of individuals by giving them the opportunity to make choices and encouraging empowerment whenever possible within the guidelines of the Individual Service Plan and Behavior Support Plan (if applicable).Participate in the Individual Service Plan (ISP) and Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings to enhance the development of programs for individuals. Maintain appropriate charts, records, and periodic reports on individual progress as necessary, developing appropriate systems to monitor progress.Ensure each individual's rights are maintained by adhering to the policies and procedures set forth by the company and regulatory agencies.Ensure the worksite is maintained in a clean condition.Ensure that the activity schedule is followed for individuals and assist individuals in art programs in conjunction with each Individual Service Plan and/or Behavior Support Plan, as applicable.General work schedule will be Monday – Friday, with some evening weekends required for special events and activities. Secondary Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise direct care employees, volunteers and practicum students as they assist in the art instruction program. Submit accurate and timely payroll information.Manage employees to performance standards, coordinating performance goals, disciplinary action, performance plans, involuntary terminations, etc. with Human Resources.Conduct annual performance evaluations for each employee.Communicate voluntary resignations to Human Resources within 48 hours of notification by employee.Maintain working knowledge of current Federal and State regulation, HIPAA, OSHA, labor laws, as well as professional standards and make/assist in the development of and/or recommend policies and procedures. Oversee compliance of these regulations and standards.Adhere to terms and conditions of employment as outlined by the CTF Employee Handbook and job descriptionComplete DHS approved DSP training curriculum within 60 days of hire. Required Experience, Education and/or Training: Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in a art education and/or related field, or equivalent experience.Basic user knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook,etc.), and/or other PC applications.Possess valid drivers license with acceptable driving record per company requirements.Prefer previous DSP training.Prefer previous certification and training as a QMRP/QIPD.Prefer previous experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
