Description

CHESTER COUNTY — A free drive-thru shreding event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 11, at Unionville High School, 750 Unionville Road in Kennett Square. "Each year more than 10 million Americans have their personal information stolen," State Rep. Christina Sappey, a Chester County Democrat, said. Sappey, who is hosting the event, said proper disposal of confidential items can help protect people against identity theft. "I am pleased again to hold this shredding event to prevent information from falling into the wrong hands," Sappey said. Participants are asked to remain in their car and open their trunk. Staff members will then empty the car and the materials will be shredded on-site. The shred event is for individuals only, not businesses. Only paper will be accepted. There is a four-box or bag limit per car. The bags/boxes will be returned after they are emptied. Kennett Area Community Services will be on-site to collect nonperishable food donations from attendees. While donations are welcome and encouraged, they are not required to access the free shredding services. For information, contact Sappey's office at 484-200-8264.
