NO. That's just plain fucking STUPID. Who is going tio watch Mike Tyson beat the crap out of someone (while *high*?). NO ONE. I think(and this is just me), that semi automatic and fully automatic fire arms should be made 100% "ILLEAGAL accros the board, ALL 50 states" to sell to the general public (including at gun shows,swap meets, online and at local fire arms businesses, or "gifted/borrowed" from anyone to someone else) and should only be reserved to be sold to; Military, Federal, local PD, state and county law enforcement and the rest to "security" jobs that require weapons of that fire power for that specific "job(s)". Such as "seciurity" and/or armoured truck businesses/corporations. Give folks who currently own AR-15's and other rapid fire weapons 6 months to turn these fire arms into their local PD. Possession of these fire arms after the 6 months should and WILL come with a very stiff fine and jail sentence (based on how many found in possession/ownership short of a legit report of your fire arm(s) having been stollen weeks/months prior. You can't just say, "My AR-15 was stollen out of my residence/gun safe)" weeks before you are suppose to surrender it.However, the fine should be punishing as would the time served in jail. Now, I realize this will drive these weapons "underground", but that would(and possibly could) be a very small undeground black market. It would really only be coming from one direction. South. Most I would think would be coming from South America/Mexico(not that their wouldn't be any coming from Canada), and possibly via container ship and cheap knock offs and adapter kits (coming mainly from China) and other Asian countries. Making these types of weapons only available to "specific jobs", federal and local agencies, certsain privae businesses who qualify for such purchases and "illegal" for the general population to purchase/possess "I think" should reduce instances. Any instances that occur should be easily tracable to a government agency (yes, leave them and private security agencies on the hook). They will have allot to ansewer for if say, "another mass shooting" occurs via a public citizen. How and where did he/she acquire this fire arm? Did they just not " turn the weapon in, got it from a friend/direct relative,was it an underground purchase? I know that accomplishing this and answering these qiuestions will require allot of "regulation" and investgators to trace back to, but that seems"cheaper" in the long run as opposed to another dozen(or more) people/children being slaughtered by some AR-15 weilding psycho or a shit scared STUPID teenager. Many of who seem to be radicalized in some way and are often more(domestically speaking) seem to be "REPUBLICAN/RIGHT WING". Not to say "mental illness" does not play into this(if that in fact is a contributer), but its also used as "crutch" and an "excuse" by defense attourneys to get many out of the punishment they truly desserve.
