MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MN — The Mendota Heights Police Department helped a person in crisis at the front door of Friendly Hills Middle School, School Resource Officer Steve Hilyar wrote on the Department's Facebook. "We are keeping this person safe and the students and staff are not in danger," police said. Hilyar said that people drove by the person in the back of the police car and yelled obscenities at him, which was not helpful. "I will just say that we never truly know what people are going through so it is best to just be kind and keep moving along," he said.
