THE POSITION: This position is the ideal mix of working out in the field and interacting with the public. It includes utilizing a variety of maintenance, construction, and repair skills to ensure that parks and waterways facilities, backcountry snowmobile trails, vehicles, vessels and equipment are in good working order, and operate smoothly. This position requires a high degree of physical activity and requires employee(s) to work in the back country in remote locations and winter conditions. • Starting salary range $16.24 to $19.30. Maximum pay for the position is $23.55 • Public Employees Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI), a pension plan with five year vesting, 11.94% employer contribution, and a lifetime payout upon retirement • Excellent and comprehensive benefits package. DO YOU QUALIFY? • Do you have a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience in grounds maintenance, building maintenance, heavy equipment operation, mechanics, electrical, plumbing, welding, or millwright work; or equivalent combination of education and related experience? • Do you have a high school diploma or a general education degree (GED)? • Do you possess a valid Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or the ability to obtain a CDL? Are you insurable? Preference will be given to applicants who already possess a CDL. • Do you possess or have the ability to obtain within (1) one year a valid First Aid Card and CPR certification? • Do you possess or have the ability to obtain within (1) one year a State of Idaho Boater Safety Certification and Department Vessel Operators Certification? • Do you enjoy working in the back county in the winter? This position requires frequent hiking in the backcountry and performing heavy physical labor. • MUST BE ABLE TO SWIM.
