Greene County Acting EMS Director Resigns Amid Ongoing Crisis

EUTAW, AL — In the latest development in the headline-grabbing saga involving the funding and the future of the Greene County Emergency Management Service, Acting Director Zac Bolding on Monday formally handed in his resignation to the EMS Board. This comes as the ambulance service has been on the verge of a shutdown due to lack of funding, despite groups and municipalities in the surrounding area rushing to its aid with donations. In his letter, Bolding explained his resignation was due to "ongoing uncertainties, untrue statements, extreme failure in communication during a very important moment in efforts for continuity of operations." He also said, by his calculations, that Greene County EMS does not have appropriate staffing to schedule 24/7 coverage at an Advanced Life Support Level 2, although he conceded that it may be possible to staff the services at the Basic Life Support level.
