Sorrell Construction Management is looking for help! At Sorrell Construction we specialize in residential home renovation, additions, and historical restorations. We also do our fair share of new residential construction and some light commercial work. We manage all aspects of construction from the top of the foundation to the top of the roof. We are looking to fill multiple full-Time positions Including 2 carpenter apprentices/ laborers, 2 experienced carpenters, and potentially 1 lead carpenter position. Applicants for the carpenter apprentice/ laborer position should have basic construction knowledge and an eagerness to learn and develop their skills. Experience required: 1-2 years Applicants for the experienced carpenter’s position should have experience with structural framing, all forms of siding (including masonry plank, wood, and vinyl), and experience with high quality finish work as you will be expected to participate in ALL phases of a project. Experience required: 4+ years Applicants for the lead carpenters’ position will be expected to manage the flow and implication of changing details on a project and have a high aptitude for problem solving in the field. You will also be expected to maintain a consistent healthy and positive channel of communication with the crew, subcontractors, project managers, and owners. Your main job will be managing the day-to-day operations of a single jobsite and a crew of 2-4 employees with the goal of meeting deadlines and ensuring the proper application of all specified materials. You will oversee subcontractors and ensure they are following the projects scope of work. Your other rolls will include material management and keeping record of a daily log for all jobsite information and details. This is a hands-on management position of 50% management 50% tool bag on working alongside the crew. Experience required: 10+ years Qualifications and Skills Desirable candidates are able to work independently and as part of a team, with limited supervision at times. We are looking for candidates who are detail-oriented, systematic, hardworking individuals. Applicants will be required to work ALL aspects of construction from framing to finish work and everything in between. Applicants must be self-motivated, detail oriented, professionals looking not only for a quality job, but also to expand their skills in the trades. All applicants must have a valid driver's license and your own means of transportation. We offer OT pay, PTO, and paid holidays.
