ATLANTA, GA — As we move away from the Christmas holiday, some residents may be looking to remove their Christmas trees. There are three ways to remove your trees in Atlanta. Christmas trees are accepted in the city of Atlanta's bulk waste collection, which must be scheduled by individual residents through the city's public works portal. Bulk waste should be placed on the curb by 7 p.m. the night before your scheduled collection day; however, no solid waste or bulk waste collection will take place Jan. 1. The Home Depot also has drop-off locations for Georgians to recycle fir, pine, cedar or cypress Christmas trees. According to PickYourOwnChristmasTree.org, most Home Depot locations across the state will accept trees for recycling. The following Atlanta-area Home Depot locations are accepting trees at the following dates and times, but be sure to call and verify hours before arriving: Home Depot, 2525 Piedmont Road NE, Atlanta Jan. 9, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All trees must be free of lights and ornaments. Home Depot, 650 Ponce de Leon Place NE, Atlanta Jan. 9, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All threes must be free of lights and ornaments.
