Description
Looking to rehome our 2 year old Livestock Guardian Dog. He is Great Pyrenees/Akbash mix and about 115lb, neutered. Unfortunately, he is aggressive and territorial towards small animals. Owner would need to be very experienced and make sure he has no access to other dogs (besides possibly another LGD), cats, chickens, or small animals. He does well with goats and would probably do well with sheep if he was kept isolated from pets or small animals and trained well. He is a good guard dog, he keeps close to his goats and is constantly on the lookout.
He does very well with people and is very sweet and loving with adults and kids.
Unfortunately, we have had several incidents with him dragging our chickens and cats through the pasture fence in order to attempt to "play" with them. We've been lucky enough that none have been killed but he severely injured one our chickens last night and we've decided that the protection he provides our goats isn't necessary over the lives of our other animals. We intend to protect our goats a different way.
Will only rehome to someone who intends to use him as an LGD, has the land for him, and has proper experience and understands the risk he poses to other small animals and pets.
Rehoming fee is $100.
Will provide the rest of his bag of food and a collar.
