Immediate need for an experienced Welder-Fabricator. Applicants must be able to perform metal fabrication consisting of (but are not limited to) welding, burning, and layout to repair barges and marine equipment. The candidate must be dependable, hardworking, and very safety conscious. Understanding and communicating information is an essential element of this position. Experienced employees will provide on-the-job task training through mentoring, coaching, and constructive performance feedback. Primary responsibilities consist of (but are not limited to) performing maintenance and repair work on marine equipment.
The ideal applicant will have previous Shipyard or Marine repair experience. The position is very physical and requires strength, agility, endurance, and hand-eye coordination. There are no minimum educational requirements to be a Welder-Fabricator; however, completion of a high school level education in general shop, welding, mechanical drawing, blueprint reading, physics, and mathematics is desirable.
Union Shop: All employees must join the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 701, and they shall
maintain membership in good standing as a condition of employment. The union is the sole and exclusive bargaining representative of all employees.
