Although Campus Care Staff is completely separate from the spiritual community, it is important that care staff and contractors understand the context within which they are working. Summary of the Position First Congregational Church of Oakland’s Campus Care Staff is responsible for providing janitorial services to the physical plant of the Church and Community Center. Campus Care Staff is able to communicate effectively and demonstrate teamwork as required. Campus Care Staff has the strength and endurance to complete the work duties inherent to the care and maintenance of internal and external structures, furniture and furnishings, and service equipment of the FCCO building and grounds. This is an On-Call to Part-Time, non-exempt position which could eventually be Full-Time as the church gradually opens to the public. The Campus Care Staff employee is under direct supervision of the Building Manager. Qualifications • Minimum 12 months experience in the care and maintenance of a physical plant with a total of at least 15,000 square feet • Ability to communicate effectively, task-related issues as part of a routine work assignment • Ability to adapt to change in work assignment if unforeseen situations occur • Knowledge of safe work practices and operation of equipment associated with the facility work Principle Duties and Responsibilities • Attend and Participate in Campus Care and FCCO staff meetings as mandated by the Building Manager • Attend in-service training or instructional training for proper care and maintenance and awareness about industry standards regarding church properties • Assist other Campus Care Staff, if you are assigned, to facilitate completion of detailed work and projects where additional resources and physical assistance is needed • Provide work coverage as an Event Staff Aide for adequate resource pool when indicated • Monitor FCCO physical plant for safety (securing areas) where assigned. Report all security incidents to Building Grounds Supervisor, Building Manager and Campus Care Lead IMMEDIATELY. • Communicate all building, grounds, and community care and maintenance-related issues to Building Grounds Supervisor, Building Manager and Campus Care Lead • This position requires a variety of physical demands of a facilities maintenance worker including, but not limited to, sitting and/or standing with movement, walking, bending/stooping, crawling, climbing, reaching above shoulder, reaching below shoulder, reaching at shoulder, crouching, kneeling, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and repetitive hand and foot motion.
