The Grand Opening of Mamatoto Village's new maternal health center in Ward 7! You're Invited!After navigating two years of a pandemic and lots of construction, Mamatoto Village is ready to welcome YOU, a member of our community, into our new home. You are cordially invited to the grand opening of our new building! During the grand opening, you will have the opportunity to tour our building––which features our multi-purpose conference room, clinical midwifery space, private client meeting rooms, and our inviting kitchen, hear remarks from our Executive Director, staff members, and other invited guests, participate in activities and enjoy food and refreshments provided by local businesses and restaurants. We are excited and overjoyed to welcome you into our new home! Please see the event and RSVP details below: When: Monday, June 6 Time: 10 - 11 am; Press, Elected Officials, Board Members, Staff. 12 - 3 pm; All are welcome Where: 4315 Sherriff Rd Washington, DC 20019 What to Expect: There will be two different portions of the event. During the first hour, there be a ribbon-cutting ceremony, opening remarks, refreshments, small bites, and a tour of the building. Between 12 - 3 pm, we will host the following activities: 12:30 - 1 pm: Health and Wellness; Yoga + Cooking Demo 1 - 1:30 pm: Healthy Smiles Workshop presented by Colgate. This presentation consists of tooth and gum cleansing techniques, what to expect from a dental care provider, signs of decay, and dietary recommendations. Toothbrush kits will be provided at the end. 1:45 - 2:45 pm: Mama Mingles - during this event we will discuss topics related to pregnancy and motherhood, self-care, and parenting. COVID-19: Due to Covid-19, we are requiring all attendees to present their vaccination cards upon arrival and upload a negative rapid test to our portal here.
