Description
Join us to explore nature together as a family and connect with your community! It’s easy to say families need to spend more time together outdoors, but no one gives specifics on how to do this. That’s why we provide easy access to the essential nature experiences families crave. Join us on select Saturdays this summer to explore nature together as a family, create mindful memories and make connections with other families in your community! Where will this be held? Our second meeting will be held at Bentleyville Community Park at 36020 Solon Rd, Bentleyville, OH 44022 from 10-11:30 and will include crafting a nature journal, hiking, journaling, playing and socializing (and getting dirty and having fun, of course!) Meet us to the right of the parking lot at the picnic tables- we will have a Family Nature Hike sign so you will know you're in the right place! **A note about this location- it is listed as Bentleyville Community Park but the sign at the street reads 'River View Park' (please see the picture of the sign at the bottom of the page)** What kind of fun will be be having? In our hour and a half together, you will have the opportunity to hike as a family while noticing unique aspects of nature and journaling about them using a nature journal that your child made themselves! Your child can keep their nature journal and will have the option of drawing or photographing what you find. Each family hike will end at a different playground or play area so children can have a half an hour of free play with other hikers while parents connect and chat, with this one ending at Bentleyville Community Park's playset and riverside area! Who is hosting this event? These experiences are organized and guided by Rebecca Waud, an occupational therapist and owner of Good Nature Therapy Services, and with the purpose of forming connections. Rebecca has been an occupational therapist for over 13 years and is passionate about helping children and their families connect with each other, their communities and nature. How much does this cost? It is free! You are welcome to sign up for one or multiple events! Spaces are limited to 5 families to make sure it is easy to meet and get to know the other families participating and ensure there are enough materials for everyone. Provided supples include: a tote bag, materials to make a nature journal, pencil and use of an instant camera What if I sign up and then can't make it? We completely understand that schedules change, we just ask that you cancel your reservation at least 24 hours in advance so that someone on the waitlist will have an opportunity to attend. What happens if it rains? If it is a light drizzle we will still hold the event- playing in the rain is fun! If the weather is unsafe we will cancel the event and will let you know as soon as possible via email. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ *This booking is for Saturday, June 25th at Bentleyville Community Park.
