I see several posts for musicians looking for gigging bands who might need a new person for a certain instrument or vocals. I had one posted myself for sometime. Consider this, as I have had to, if a band is gigging they already have everyone they need. Right? Also, many venues are only booking solo acoustic or electric entertainers. And, if you are on the outside looking in, you will likely stay there, as the folks who are gigging are not giving up an inch of ground for someone who is just looking. Doesn't matter if you are a beginner or a veteran pro player, this is a small town with not many places to play. And if you can't play an instrment and sing, you are likely going to be on the outside for some time to come. I'm not trying to be negative, I just know the scene around here and it is not good for an outsider, unless you can do a solo act to get started. All the best to my fellow musicians in their searches for their place in the local music scene!
