Danbury Democrats Announce Candidates For November Election

DANBURY – At a Special meeting of the Danbury Democratic Town Committee, candidates for State House Assembly Districts 109, 110, and 138, Judge of Probate, and Registrar of Voters were unanimously endorsed. Veteran incumbent state representative Bob Godfrey, who also serves as deputy speaker of the Connecticut House of Representatives, was unanimously endorsed to seek re-election for the 110th District. Incumbent state representative Ken Gucker, who also serves as assistant majority Leader of the House of Representatives, was unanimously endorsed to represent the 138th District. Farley Santos, a current member of the City Council and former member of the Board of Education, was unanimously endorsed for the 109th District seat. Joseph DaSilva, Jr. was unanimously endorsed to seek election as Danbury's next Judge of Probate. He has practiced law in Danbury and Connecticut for 23 years and serves as a trial referee, arbitrator and mediator. He has recently served as a member of the Danbury Board of Education. Incumbent Registrar of Voters, Joan Bielizna, was unanimously endorsed to seek re-election for that position. These candidates join incumbent State Senator Julie Kushner, who was previously endorsed unanimously at the 24th State Senate Convention. "The twenty-eight officers and members of the DDTC are pleased and proud of the Democratic team that has been assembled for this year's election. We have a strong slate of candidates who have and will continue to work hard for Danbury, They deliver results for us," said Roberto Alves, Danbury Democratic Town Committee chair.
