By Kristen Barton, Fort Worth Report May 24, 2022 Polls are open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. for the primary run-off races in Tarrant County. The Fort Worth Report is following two key races today: the Republican runoff for district attorney and the GOP runoff for Texas House District 93. The district attorney race has Matt Krause, R-Fort Worth, against Tarrant County Criminal Court No. 10 Judge Phil Sorrells. Sorrells had a 10% lead against Krause in the first race, but TCU political science professor James Riddlesperger previously told the Report it's still anyone's race. In the primary race, 118,622 people voted. Of those votes, Sorrells secured 48,026 and Krause received 36,711. The remaining votes went to candidate Mollee Westfall. The candidates are both conservative and share similar views on issues, but the biggest clash between the pair has come down to the role the district attorney should play.
