Click here to learn more. Here are the top three stories today in Charleston: The plan for the Charleston Animal Society's expansion includes a vet clinic, a training center, and a barn. The new additions are meant to aid the shelter in providing affordable vet care and education while expanding its capacity. The shelter currently cares for between 15,000 and 20,000 animals each year. (Charleston Post Courier)The City of Charleston has announced that it will not able to provide summer swim lessons this year. The decision was due to a staffing shortage. The city was not able to hire enough lifeguards and certified swim instructors for the program. The city will still be able to keep its four public pools open, but city lifeguards are only certified to supervise swimmers since instruction is a different certification process. (WCBD News 2)The popular Beyond Van Gogh immersive experience is coming to North Charleston. Participants will be able to experience more than 300 of Van Gogh's most famous works through a multimedia exhibit. The experience will be available from Jul. 16 through Sep. 3.
