Teaching young children about nature and sustainability is a great way for toddlers and preschoolers to learn empathy and responsibility while relating to the natural world around them! Join the Nebraska Forest Service for a specialty educator workshop focused on picture books, short stories, and literary connections to some of our favorite early childhood Project Learning Tree Lessons. Learn how you can incorporate environmental education into your daily routines, including story time, to engage young children in learning about the natural world that surrounds them. We'll focus on early childhood activities from Project Learning Tree's Trees & Me Guide, an award-winning environmental education program, and help you find new ways to utilize some time-tested activities this summer in your library, childcare center, school, or other learning environment. Participants in this workshop will receive 2.5 in-service hours. Professional Development Workshop Details: - Cost is $5 per person.
