Press release from the St. Louis County Government: May 19, 2022 ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (May 19, 2022) - Since announcing the opening of a joint rental and utility assistance portal last month, the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County have distributed $6.3 million in emergency rental assistance to more than 1,500 households to help families in our region recover from the pandemic. To date, the City has distributed $1.8 million in assistance and the County has distributed nearly $4.5 million. "Government works best when we work together, especially across the city-county line," said Mayor Tishaura O. Jones. "I appreciate this collaboration with County Executive Page and his administration in helping connect our region's families to the support they need to stay in their homes and pay their utilities." The public can track key metrics from the second Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) through a new web dashboard. The dashboard tracks distribution of funds to tenants or landlords, percentage of funds distributed, average processing time, total households served, months of rent distributed, and median utilities and rent paid. "Our first round of emergency rental assistance provided $29 million to help families in St. Louis County stay in their homes," County Executive Dr. Sam Page said. "The collaboration between the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County will alleviate any confusion on where a struggling tenant or landlord can apply for this second round of funding. Thank you to Mayor Jones and her team for making this partnership a success." The emergency rental assistance program aims to prevent residents from experiencing further financial hardships or additional consequences to living conditions by providing housing stability services to eligible households, including but not limited to, rental assistance and utility assistance and resource referral information. Information about the program, including eligibility, can be found on the portal's website or by calling 1-855-582-3973. This press release was produced by the St. Louis County Government.
