Press release from the City of Ames: May 20, 2022 Construction of underground utilities improvements on Top O Hollow Road will begin Tuesday, May 24, weather permitting. Top O Hollow Road will be closed to through traffic from Hoover to Roy Key avenues during this construction. The City of Ames has contracted with Manatts Inc. and its subcontractor Jet Drain to complete these improvements, which include replacement of storm sewer intakes and upsizing pipes between intakes. This work is expected to be complete in five to seven days. Future phases of the project, including removal and replacement of pavement, will occur at a later date. All are encouraged to take note of this construction activity and allow extra travel time as delays may occur. As always, caution should be exercised when traveling through the construction area.
