Position: Maintenance Technician II Location: San Francisco, CA Job Id: 170 # of Openings: 1 Program: Multiple Status: Non-Exempt, Non-Union Reports To: Facilities Operations Director JOB SUMMARY: Working closely with the Facilities Manager the Maintenance Technician II is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and physical condition of all Community Forward SF facilities. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Regularly walk through and inspect buildings/equipment for safety issues and addressing any problems. Perform a variety of minor tasks relative to facility maintenance: perform minor service to all electrical, plumbing (e.g., drain systems/fixture replacement; ensure all sewer lines are clear and in working order at all times) and mechanical systems within the buildings. Perform minor carpentry, drywall repair, painting, ceiling and floor tiles, door and window hardware replacement; furniture moving, and/or repair and replace office furniture; repair and replace lighting and other electrical fixtures. Monitor and control supplies and equipment. Completes assigned work orders generated from Site Managers for service, as well as routine upkeep on the property by diagnosing the source or cause of the defect or problem, and making repairs in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety standards, and code requirements. Follows procedures for accessing and obtaining materials, supplies, equipment, tools, and other items from each site's maintenance shop by tracking inventory used, returning unused items to the established location, and notifying the maintenance supervisor about re-ordering needs. Assists in maintaining the grounds, common areas, and amenities. Some examples include picking up trash and debris, pressure-washing exterior breezeways, performing general cleaning, and painting curbs and signage. Inform and report to the Facilities Operations Director of the above mentioned tasks. Other: Inform the Facilities Operations Director about purchases of materials and small equipment that are required for minor/basic maintenance and repairs from our vendors. Must be available on off hours, off days including weekends and holidays for emergency calls/duties. Support the Medical Respite & Sobering Center mission to promote stabilization, hope, and healing for adults experiencing homelessness in San Francisco. Other duties as assigned. ​MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1 year of Maintenance experience. Painting/Drywall – ability to make repairs to drywall, texture, taping, painting. Electrical – ability to repair and troubleshoot electrical problems. Plumbing – ability to complete minor repairs and replace sinks, toilets, water heaters, etc. High school diploma or G.E.D. CPR and first aid certification within 90 days of hire. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stand, walk, sit and drive as needed throughout the day for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Frequently required to complete tasks in an environment where interruptions may be constant and background noise is present. Ability to move throughout buildings including stairs, between buildings, and out in the community.
