CRISTINA VANE
Based out of Nashville, Tennessee, Cristina Vane is taking the town by storm with her unique blend of blues and folk. Born and raised in Europe, and passing through New Jersey and Los Angeles before Tennessee, she draws from such a great host of influences that it is impossible to compare her music to any one artist. She added bottleneck slide to her longstanding singing and songwriting, and since then has become fluent in fingerstyle guitar and clawhammer banjo as her interest in American folk music deepened. Cristina’s authentic sound is compelling, and has resulted in direct support opportunities with Bob Weir, Wynonna Judd, Cass McCombs (The Fillmore SF), Town Mountain, Duane Betts, and Willi Carlile. She sold out her 2021 Station Inn debut, was featured in the Bank of America ad. for Ken Burns’ “Country Music” documentary, and asked to be a guest on Billy Strings annual String the Halls III this year. Her debut release, “Nowhere Sounds Lovely” was produced by Grammy-award-winning drummer and producer Cactus Moser. Vane’s next album will be released spring 2022, and is being co-produced by Brook Sutton, Jano Rix (of the Wood Brothers) and Cristina herself, and includes appearances by Rix, Billy Contreras, Kyle Tuttle, and Bronwyn Keith Hines. Whether on the Venice boardwalk busking by the beach or on a stage in Mississippi, her signature resonator bottleneck playing and powerful vocals are unmistakable and unforgettable.
