International Vegan Film Festival, presented my Wicked Kitchen - described by its director as the world's first of its kind - is set to screen its' Best of' World Tour in San Diego The World Tour screening, which will take place on August 17th and 18th, at Movie Under The Stars, located 4040 Goldfinch, San Diego, California At 8 pm, we will showcase showcase a diverse selection of over 2 hours+ of short films with a vegan subject matter from filmmakers worldwide. Tickets cost $40.00 includes a meal and drink (details on event page and will be sent via email with ticket purchase). Tickets available for festival on eventbrite.com . Unlike other vegan film events, which are one-off, local screenings, Director Shawn Stratton says he aimed to show a unique variety of quality vegan-themed films from around the world and make the Festival an annual international event. In 2021 the Festival welcomed 45 film submissions, both short and full-length features, fiction and documentary, totaling over 20 hours of vegan-themed films. "All entries were submitted into one of five categories and were viewed by a pre-selection Committee chaired by the Festival Director and Programming Director. An appointed international jury then screened finalists chosen by this Committee." This year, over 60% of the submitted films are female-directed. Director Shawn Stratton says he aimed to "show a unique variety of quality vegan-themed films from around the world with the purpose to educate, inspire and entertain vegans and non-vegans alike." In addition, the Festival supports vegan-themed filmmakers by providing an avenue to show their films to new audiences, recognizing their passion projects. The International Vegan Film Festival The International Vegan Film Festival, an incorporated not-for-profit, is a trailblazing event dedicated to celebrating the vegan ideal: a healthier, more compassionate, environmentally friendly lifestyle that can be achieved by consuming plants and animal-free alternatives. The cost of the ticket includes a vegan dinner. Each purchase will help us continue to create amazing events and bring vegan events like these to San Diego and hopefully around the U.S. We hope to extend this knowledge and compassion to as many as we can.
