ROYAL OAK, MI — Royal Oak officials rose nearly $13,000 for a teen battling lymphoma in a charity hockey game that saw officials battle Detroit Red Wings alumni, according to a report from Fox 2 Detroit. Although the Red Wings alumni won the game 13-8, the real winner was Salem High School senior and son of a firefighter, Lane Kleinglass. The lacrosse player was diagnosed with lymphoma after he developed pain in his leg, the report said. "It's nice to see so many people there all the time," Kleinglass said. "These people know me and I don't really know them because I was little when my dad worked here." After finishing school in the fall, Kleinglass said he wants to train to be a firefighter, just like his dad, the report said. "We look forward to Lane beating cancer and joining the first responder family in the near future and wish him and his family the best in years to come," officials said.
