ELMHURST, IL – Southbound Illinois Route 83 was closed Monday morning from St. Charles to Roosevelt roads in Elmhurst, the city said in a statement. But the road has since been reopened. The closure was because of a semi-truck fire on Route 83, near Roosevelt, the city said. The fire has since been put out, according to the city. Drivers are urged to avoid the area and take alternate routes.
