ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of domestic battery, burglary, drugs and driving violations. Here is information from the reports: Domestic battery Nathan Smahon, 40, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 10 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of North Shady on a charge of domestic battery. According to a police report, Smahon spit at a woman twice and was aggressive with her and her children. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. Burglary Charley Curry, 29, of Houston, was arrested about 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the 100 block of North York on a warrant charging fugitive from justice. In the same incident, Corre Plater, 32, of Houston was arrested on charges of burglary to a motor vehicle and possession of burglary tools. Both were taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, the men were arrested after a person discovered a broken window on his car and money stolen from the center console. Drugs Jerry Huffman, 48, of Hammond, Indiana, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Friday at Roosevelt and Route 83 on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and improper lighting. He was released on bond. Driving violations Jennilee Velez, 20, of Chicago, was cited about 8:30 p.m. Thursday at North and Route 83 on charges of no valid driver's license and improper window tinting. She was released on bond. Adam Carter 45, of Elmhurst, was cited about 6 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of East Fremont on charges of driving with a suspended license and driving an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released on bond. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt.
