Teen Accidentally Killed While He And Friend Play With Gun: Police

PHOENIX, AZ — A young man is dead after his friend accidentally shot him Sunday evening in Phoenix, according to police. Brian Lujan, 18, was found shot around 6:30 p.m. Sunday in a home near the intersection of 71st Avenue and Thomas Road, police said. He was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries, according to police. Lujan's friend, Sergio Lopez Ruiz was later arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, police said. Police believe that Lujan and Ruiz were both handling Ruiz's gun when it fired, and the bullet struck Lujan. This is the second time within a week that a teen in Phoenix has been killed in what police believe was an accidentally shooting by a friend.
