Man Injured, One In Custody After Shooting Monday On Skyland Boulevard

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Police Department says a 34-year-old man suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening in a shooting Monday in the 2000 block of Skyland Boulevard in the vicinity of the Marathon gas station. TPD spokesperson Stephanie Taylor said the first of several 911 calls to report the shooting came in just before 5 p.m. She also said a suspect was now in custody after attempting to flee the scene and officers are searching for at least one other suspect. TPD believes the shooting was the result of an altercation that occured at the same location earlier in the day. More than a dozen officers are currently on the scene speaking with witnesses, she said, as investigators are also searching for potential suspects. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.
