I have some parakeets. Have had them a few years, don't know their ages, but they are in good health. None are hand tamed, that is the way they came. There are 6 of them, 4 are female and 2 (I think) are male. Could be wrong. None have been used to breed, they have had toys and mirrors etc to keep them busy, which do get replaced as they get chewed up. In my house, during winter, they come out of their cage few times a week, to fly around the bird room. In the summer, most days, they spend the day on the covered porch (bring them in at night) They eat parakeet seed and ground up greens, veg, etc They also like broccoli sometimes. Not hand tame, but they seem pretty happy & chatty to me. Bird upkeep costs money; for toys, seed, and some veg sometimes too. I am looking for a loving home for them; am looking to downsize. If you know about parakeets, you know they are chatty (noisy) funny, have personalities, love to make a mess. I would like to rehome all together, or at least don't want them to be rehomed alone.
