Description
The use of the (and Navy Veteran, too!) moniker is done because there is a minuscule number of veterans that make up the demographics of this nation. With just 7% of the general population, veterans can and have been forgotten too many times in our country's past.
It also is used because of my proud liberal beliefs. When I served I was the only Democrat in any of the commands I served under. Also, I think of all of the hawks who refused to serve. Trump called those who served "losers", and compounded that vileness by calling the dead Patriots who offered up the ultimate sacrifice to this nation as "suckers". Then there is Mitch McConnell...read his military biography. None of these men felt the heat of a grinder, scrambled a Navy jet in an ice storm, or folded a flag over the casket of a shipmate and then handed it solemnly to his young wife as his precious daughter cried tears I can feel to this day.
