Leads and directs daily activities of the shipping department, including productivity, quality, service, and on-time delivery in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring customer requirements and organization goals are achieved.
MUST know international import/ export
Responsible for securing quotes for LTL and TL shipments
Load planning and working with freight brokers
Monitor Sales Orders for Ship and Delivery Dates.
Maintain knowledge of customer routing guides
Schedule and track inbound and outgoing shipments.
Manage and train all warehouse personnel.
Ensure orders are delivered on time to both wholesale and retail customers worldwide
Must be familiar with import + export
Must be able to calculate freight rates
Investigate all shortages and chargebacks
Assist in warehouse work
Identify new carriers to provide costs savings to the organization
Assess and recommend ideal shipping methods, routing of carriers to meet necessary specifications and costs.
Negotiate rates with carriers.
Maintain customer service logs and OSHA safety records.
Requirements:
3 years' field shipping manager experience required
Demonstrated understanding of consumer goods industry
Able to manage time effectively
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient inventory management software like FedEx Ship and UPS Worldship. Knowledge of QuickBooks is a plus.
Proficiency in Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and word
