NW Employment solutions is partnered with the Clackamas County Fairgrounds and we are looking to add Summer Maintenance Workers to our team! This position is great for College students home for the summer, or anyone 16 and older looking for summer work! This position includes but is not limited to, basic cleaning of buildings, maintenance of grounds and landscaped areas/and providing support for Fair and other events. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: • Performs general cleaning and upkeep duties. • Performs a variety of janitorial tasks including restroom cleaning/ sweeping and mopping, disposal of garbage and recycling/ and kitchen cleaning. • Operates light equipment. • Performs set up/ maintenance/ and cleanup for Fairground events. • Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED: • Knowledge of janitorial work, cleaning methods, procedures, equipment and supplies used in custodial maintenance of a large facility. • Reasonable knowledge of janitorial maintenance. • Ability to safely operate light equipment. • Ability to perform light manual labor. • Ability to interpret and comply with written and oral instructions. • Ability to communicate effectively. QUALIFICATIONS: • Entry level janitorial skills. • Valid driver's license • 16 years and older encouraged to apply • College Students home for the summer are encouraged to apply SCHEDULE AND PHYSICALITY: Work is performed with general supervision from the Facility Supervisor who assigns work in both oral and written forms. Special projects are assigned orally and are performed with supervision. Recurring routine assignments are independently performed by employee on basis of past experience. Projects are spot checked during the project and at completion. Employee estimates time and material and manages time efficiently. Must be able to work flexible hours, particularly during the summer fair season. Holiday and weekend work required. Work schedule for the majority of the year is Friday through Thursday. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work involves walking, dimbing, bending/ pushing, pulling/ and lifting up to 50 pounds. Employees may be exposed to a variety of environmental elements including wind, rain, snow/ dust, chemicals and fumes. Some work assignments may require safety precautions and/or protective wear.
