In this role, you will work closely with the Operations Lead providing day-to day supervision and coordination required to ensure tests are conducted safely. The majority of the time will be spent outdoors managing vehicle traffic to and from testing surface areas of the facility for clearance and safety. As a Traffic Controller, you will: Ensure that safe and secure operations take place when the facility is used by multiple teams by alerting track users if hazardous conditions are identified. Monitor activity on the ground level and ensure personnel/vehicle safety on the test surfaces and high traffic areas.Provide radio management by maintaining constant communication with security and teams on the ground.Establish a strong working environment and communicate with all Zoox teams onsite.Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors visiting the facility.Stay up to date with documented facility protocols, procedures, and enforce safety policies. Ensure operations throughout the day run smoothly with minimal to no interruption.Maintain radio equipment e.g. charge, sanitize, etc.Monitor generator equipment.Ensure common areas are in working condition.Allocate and monitor onsite parking.Provide coordination of non-test vehicles e.g. auxiliary, support, utility etc.Prepare test surfaces when needed.Assist testing teams and BaseOps with some basic tasks.Drive mobile cart to and from common areas to load/unload items.Monitor vehicle charge levels. Perform end of day duties e.g. deploy, ingest, charge, and move testing vehicles.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
