Beaver & Sons Painting, based out of Boxford, MA and serving The North Shore, is an established yet growing interior and exterior painting contractor who is now accepting applications for Painters who are neat, clean, personable, and service-oriented individuals to join our team of craftsmen. You will be working with a fast-paced team of people with high standards. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Must have own transportation. •Arrive to the job at designated time daily, unless otherwise specified by crew leader or supervisor. • Must posses the capabilities to move and use ladders and power equipment (i.e. sanders, sprayers, large ladders, etc.). • Must have a thorough understanding of preparation procedures (i.e. sanding, caulking, sealing, etc.). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. SET UP JOB SITE DAILY: • Set up drop cloths out in areas to be painted - drop, tape, plastic • Set up ladders - remove from truck and ask supervisor where he wants them 2. MAINTAIN OVERALL JOB SITE APPEARANCE THROUGHOUT THE DAY • Ask crew leader/ master painter where shop is to be located, keep it organized all day long • Drop out area and keep shop neat throughout the day • Clean-up paint chips and dispose of properly daily • Shake out drops in designated areas • Clean up site before lunch (arrange ladders and drops in neat presentation, especially the front of house) • Clean up job site at end of day 3. MAINTAIN TRUCK APPEARANCE • Keep truck clean and organized on a daily basis 4. HELP PREP FOR PAINTING • Scrape • Sand • Caulk • Prime 5. BE SKILLED AT BASIC ELEMENTS OF PAINTING • Brush • Roller REQUIREMENTS: • Resume detailing past experience with prior company names, contact info, dates of employment and duties. • 3 or more years of residential painting experience. • Provide your own transportation to and from the job site. • MUST BE COMFORTABLE WITH TECHNOLOGY. Must own a smart phone or have the capability to text in order to clock into work and track your hours. • Bring your lunch. Don't expect anyone to go out and get your lunch or coffee. • Be reliable, present good work ethic, high integrity and drug free • Clean presentable appearance expected at all times • Maintain dress code and according to the standards of Beaver and Sons customers expect; i.e. appearance. Must wear clean white shirt, white painter's pants, or shorts. No cutoffs or tank tops. • Maintain proper hygiene. Wash your work clothes at least weekly. Absolutely no smoking during work hours or on job site. If you enter a client's home smelling like cigarettes, you will be asked to leave. • Good technical skills in terms of using hand & power tools • Have tools with you. Keep track of your tools. They are your responsibility! If you need any tools ask the crew leader. Return all borrowed tools to the rightful owners • Be able to communicate basic work requirements in English PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND SKILLS NEEDED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: • Critical thinker who maintains high standards. • Likes to develop routines that work, but can consider new procedures if shown the benefits. • Prefers to "plan your work and work your plan" • Easygoing, cooperative team player, but can speak up with new ideas or to maintain standards. • Comfortable with changes in company structure, policy, etc. SCHEDULE • 40 hours per week, Monday -- Friday. • Rate between 18- 25 an hour. • Work starts at 7:00 AM. • Meet with other team members in the morning, or sometimes work independently at homes on North Shore areas.
