LAKELAND, FL — Electrical issues caused a destructive house fire in a Lakeland neighborhood Sunday, fire authorities said. Pictures provided by the Lakeland Fire Department showed flames that covered the porch and the inside of the home. Another photo showed a van on fire next to the house located in the 1200 block of Walnut Street, Lakeland. Nine Lakeland Fire Department units got the fire that started just before 9 p.m. under control in less than 20 minutes, according to the city of Lakeland's website. The family that lived in the house received assistance from the American Red Cross, city officials said. No one was injured in the fire, authorities said.
