Join us for a Social Hour with folks who love the environment and OKC! June features Emily and Alena, founders of OKC Clothing Swap! OKC Beautiful's Sustainability Social Hour is for those who love the environment and our city. Each session is centered around networking with those who have a passion for and want to learn more about environmental stewardship topics. Each sessions features a Q&A session with a guest speaker. June's featured guests are Emily Madden and Alena Chesney, founders of OKC Clothing Swap. Their organization is centered around eco-friendly ways to swap clothing and items to limit the need to purchase new stuff. We'll be discussing fast fashion, opportunities for reuse, and ways we can reduce our consumption in a consumer world. When Emily and Alena aren’t looking for ways to get people together to swap clothing, books, baby gear, and whatever else they can think of, Emily is an upholsterer and furniture designer, bringing new life to old pieces, and Alena is the event manager at Lively Beerworks. You can find them singing karaoke, climbing rocks, and looking for new ways to reduce and reuse. Sustainability Social Hour is every second Wednesday of the month. Location changes each month.
