Danger Bird - Neil Young Tribute The Gloria Faye Dingus Music Alliance is pleased to welcome Danger Bird to Gloria's Listening Room. Danger Bird brings you the music of Neil Young in a reverent, faithful and creative tribute. Danger Bird is the Mid-Atlantic’s premier Neil Young tribute band. Launched in 2016, Danger Bird has been packing venues and thrilling audiences ever since their very first performance. Comprising five seasoned veterans of the DMV (DC, MD, VA) live music scene, their experience and professionalism ensure consistently excellent and entertaining shows. Drawing from Neil’s acoustic days in the Toronto folk scene, through the golden sound of the Buffalo Springfield in L.A., the proto-grunge of Crazy Horse, the shimmering vocals of CSNY, the country roots of The Stray Gators and The International Harvesters, all the way to the raw energy of The Promise of the Real, Danger Bird digs deep into the catalog of one of the greatest songwriters ever. They take their audience on a “Journey Through the Past”, spinning the story of Neil Young and his music. Their vocal harmonies and faithful arrangements will have you believing you are hearing the great man himself. Join us at 8pm for an opening act by Sallie Mae Foster. Sally Mae Foster has been stealing hearts and taking names since her early childhood. As a youngster, little Sally Mae was singing herself through happy days of play and chores. Legend has it that she was humming herself to sleep before she could even speak. As she delved into early music lessons her love of song only deepened and drew her into the craft of composing songs to perform herself. Tickets are $20 and advance purchase is highly recommended. Children 12 and under admitted free with parent or guardian. Doors open at 7:00 and the opening act with Sallie Mae Foster will begin at 8pm. Danger Bird will begin the main act starting at 8pm. Proceeds will go to The Gloria Faye Dingus Music Alliance, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing music education and instruments for all those wishing to learn and enjoy music.
