Description

Hello I am U4EA a LGBTQ music producer and performer. I hope this story and request finds you happy and well. Unfortunately although I am well I am far from happy. My mother lies on her death bed half a country away. As much as I want to rush to her side there are circumstances that are preventing me from doing so. I really do not want to spend the little time I have left dwelling on the negative, so I have come up with something positive and fabulous instead. First let me give a short biography.... I was born in 1969 in July. There were men on the moon the morning I came into this world. They were on their way back when my mother went to the corner store and never returned. I spent the next two years as a ward of the state of Ohio. Then it happened a young couple from Austin who were not able to conceive adopted me and moved to southern California. My childhood was as normal and wonderful as any I assume. I was the only child living with a stay at home Mom and a stern but fair Dad. They divorced when I was nine in 1978. My mother never let me know why and for all I could tell was not holding any grudges. She was intelligent and very loving. We stayed with my grandparents and a friend of hers for a couple years. This is where the story becomes very important. The movie poster said “Spend 1979 in 1959!” and there was the guy I knew from a TV show we watched often, John Travolta. The movie was GREASE and my mother, grandmother and I saw it together. Mom promptly bought the LP Soundtrack and we sang and danced together for I have no idea how long. I was 10 years old. This is one of many very fond memories I will treasure of this woman. I am currently listening to it and trying not to cry so I can see what I'm typing. Time is of the essence and I will plenty of time for grief but this is not it. Back to the present, May 24th Tuesday morning 3am. Today I have found out that my stepdad has passed. He is sorely missed and I hope his passing was peaceful. Here is the problem. My stepsister who for reasons of her own. Keeping it positive. Had decided not to tell any of the family of this man death. He passed on the 8th and yesterday was the 23rd. It is a miracle I know this. Some little bird told another little bird and that one told my niece. Just so everyone is aware I live in Houston and my parents in Apple Valley California. Keeping it positive. For reasons of her own my stepsister who has medical POA and conservationist has spent the last year isolating my parents from the rest of the family. Lets keep it positive and move past this. I have limited contact with my Mother. My stepsister is sending me recordings of her taking the very best of care of her, while she lies dying. I sent a sheriff to do a wellness check and am in contact with an attorney.....keeping it positive. So here is the request and I am only making it because the sheriff mentioned it and I can tell by the way she sounds. I probably have very little time. I want to send my Mother recordings of me Performing GREASE as Danny and as Sandra Dee. I have a warehouse space to do this at. I operate my own business here. If you are reading this and are in the Houston area with or without production experience, please I invite you to help. I guarantee it will be fun. Depending on response there could be parts for Rizzo or any other number of the cast. If there is no response I will lip syncing with my best homemade costumes and makeup. I don't care which way it goes I only care about giving this wonderful woman the best sendoff I can manage. Thank you so much if you have read this. Just writing this has made me feel like I can absolutely break both legs doing this. To be perfectly clear I am not asking for money or any funding for this I have that covered. I am asking for talent and hands. If you are in the Houston area and want to help or know someone who wants to help, you are welcome to help in anyway you can. I will provide refreshments and direction for whomever comes. Bless you all, every last one.
