Description

Enjoy another incredible wine tasting with our Sommelier, Olivier Flosse, for a special tour to the most famous wine regions of Argentina. Over the past decade Argentina has evolved from a country not well known on the global wine scene to the New World’s fastest growing exporter of wines. The leading grape in Argentina in terms of reputation and quantity is Malbec, a Bordeaux variety imported to Argentina from France in the mid 19th century.  the Argentinian white wine region’s signature grape is Torrontés, which yields a floral, tropical-tasting wine. Among these, Mendoza is the leader in terms of quantity and quality, with roughly 80% of the nation’s wine production centered in this desert region located almost directly across the Andes Mountains from Santiago, Chile, and about 650 miles due west of Buenos Aires. Neuquén and Río Negro, meanwhile, are in southerly Patagonia, while Salta is in the north of the country, near the border with Bolivia. Cost: $50.00 per person (includes $25 gift card) Light appitezers accompany this event. Special discounts available for all of the featured products after the event. Mi Terruño family produce excellent quality wines that express their pride of being in Mendoza. This Torrontés really speaks of the place in which it is made - fresh, floral, dry - classic of the varietal. Poligonos, Zuccardi, San Pablo, Uco Valley, Mendoza, 2018 Polígonos of the Uco Valley is a selection that expresses the particular characteristics of different terroirs within the Valley. Red color with violet hues. Expresses a great herbal character with notes of fresh red fruits. Lively acidity and subtlety of tannins in the mouth. Ben Marco, Malbec, Mendoza, 2019, $19.99 The 2019 BenMarco Malbec was produced with fruit from Chacayes in the Valle de Uco, it is floral, spicy, aromatic, showy and expressive, with lots of aromatic herbs, black pepper and flowers. It has both good ripeness and freshness, with very fine tannins. It's ripe without excess and elegant. Humberto canale, Malbec, Patagonia, 2019 A pure expression of Patagonian “Terroir” and Argentinian Malbec. A refined and complex style both in the nose and in the mouth. Its just step through oak gives it an extra dimension that makes it an irresistible wine. A great wine, with structure, intense ruby red color, with amazing notes of red fruits, eucalyptus, spices and black peppers. About Olivier Flosse Olivier Flosse is a 2X Grand Award Winner.
