Annual, free, hands-on, archaeology event You're invited to spend a day exploring the fascinating 12,000-year history of west central Illinois through fun, hands-on activities, informational exhibits, and presentations about the current research being done by CAA archaeologists. In 2022 through Two Rivers Art Council support, we welcome A.j. Hendershott. A.J. will be demonstrating his basketry work using traditional materials. We are also honored to host Kiowa tribe member, Kathy Dickerson demonstrating Native beadwork, ceramic artist Susan Bostwick demonstrating traditional firing methods, archaeologist, Larry Kinsella teaching experimental archaeology methods, a spear throwing competition and much more!
