GREENFIELD, WI — A Greenfield High School student was critically injured in a hit and run on Saturday on Loomis Road near Edgerton Avenue, and a suspect has been arrested, according to a news release put out Monday by the Greenfield Police Department.
Police were called to the 4800 block of Loomis around 10:20 p.m. that day for reports that a pedestrian was hit by a car and unconscious, according to department logs. The student was brought to Children's Hospital, police said.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and the Greenfield School Community during this difficult time," police said in the news release.
The driver of the car that hit the student fled the scene, according to the police news release. Police said they arrested a suspect in connection with the hit and run on Sunday.
