ARLINGTON, VA — A suspected car thief who was spotted looking suspiciously into vehicles in the Ballston area on Friday got into a vehicle and drove it toward a man, narrowly missing him, according to the Arlington County Police Department.
At about noon on Friday, police were dispatched to the 500 block of N. Quincy Street in response to the incident.
The victim told police that he saw a man looking into vehicles and then confronted the suspect about trespassing on private property.
The suspect then got into one of the vehicles that was later determined to be stolen in Fairfax County. He drove away at a high rate of speed toward the victim, but did not hit him.
The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, about 25 years old, wearing a black baseball cap, long gold chain necklace with a cross, black shirt, ripped jeans and a bandana-style face mask.
