On Saturday, June 11th the Hayti Film Next Level series culminates with the fundraiser, REBIRTH: HAYTI FILM FORWARD.
The Hayti Heritage Film Festival (HHFF) recently celebrated its 27th year. This legacy anchor program of the Center attracts filmmakers and enthusiasts alike as a means to promote and elevate Black Southern Film. Documentaries, shorts, full-length features, and classic films by filmmakers of color enrich this multi-day event. The March 2021 festival opened with Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning director Sam Pollard in conversation with us prior to a screening of MLK / FBI. With progressive, strategic endeavors HHFF is creating a thriving hub for creativity and commerce as part of a vibrant ecosystem for African American filmmaking in the South.
