We are raising the stakes. $500 referral bonus in addition to $500 sign on bonus for the Seamstresses that we hire. Great hourly pay! Paid each week! Incentives/bonus opportunities. Growth opportunities with an expanding super busy small business. Looking for someone committed. Requirements: Experienced with working on Bridal and Formal Gowns. Must be very experienced with fitting, measuring, hemming and taking in formal and bridal gowns as necessary to fit customer measurements or pins. Perform customer fittings and measurements for size and accuracy of alterations to be completed on a variety of garments for women, men & children. Must be able to accurately pin garments at fittings. Perform Sewing alterations with accuracy and efficiency such as shortening formal gown hems, taking in bodice of gowns, shortening straps, hemming pants or jeans, adjusting tops and blouses. Must be very familiar with working on a single needle commercial or industrial sewing machine. Must be very familiar with working on a portable serger or finishing machine. Must provide previous work history or experience and reference. Must be experienced with steaming and pressing garments on occasion as necessary. Must be able to bend, stand, kneel, and lift at least 10 pounds. Able to sit at sewing machine for long hours. Prefer experienced with hand sewing. Some minor beading or lifting lace off of gowns will be performed in some cases depending upon the gown. Will train in these areas. Must be friendly and customer services oriented. Greet customers with a smile and upbeat personality. Must be able to clearly speak and understand English. Must patiently listen and communicate with customers in order to perform specific accurate tasks relating to their garments. Must be able to see up close and at a distance in order to accurately perform sewing tasks, read and write ticket orders. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment as well as quickly and accurately perform/complete tasks. Schedule is very flexible. 20 hours minimum up to 40 + hours depending upon the season and work performance. Must be responsible, dependable, independent and able to work on your own without ongoing supervision. The above hiring Bonuses are given after 3 consecutive months of demonstrated alterations competency, efficiency and accuracy with completing required daily tasks. Will take into consideration if you only have general clothing alterations experience but must have at least 3 years of experience sewing clothing and formal wear on a commercial machine.
