Press release from the City of Knoxville - Blog: May 20, 2022 At around 12:30 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022, Knoxville Police Department officers responded to the 1900 block of Minnesota Avenue on the report of a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the UT Medical Center, where he is listed in very critical condition. A second man was found nearby suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and identified as the primary suspect in the course of the investigation. The suspect was transported to the UT Medical Center for treatment and will be charged following his release. The investigation is ongoing and an update will be provided when it becomes available.
