Here are the top three stories in Chattanooga today: Hamilton County Schools is working to address a dramatic rise in students experiencing homelessness. The district reports that the increase is likely due to either the tornado, the COVID-19 pandemic, or loss of employment. Currently, 2,000 district students are experiencing homelessness out of the district's 43,000 students. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)Chattanooga Presents has purchased Nooga Splash. The floating water park located on the Tennessee River will open on Memorial Day weekend and remain open daily until the end of September. The park boasts a 31-piece inflatable obstacle course that allows guests to run, jump, climb, and splash. (The Chattanoogan)Chattanooga residents' electric bills will be almost 10 percent higher this summer compared to last year. The price increase has been attributed to the boycott of Russian natural gas which has caused the global price to more than double. The average Chattanooga household will see an increase that amounts to roughly $11.93 per month.
