Description
We are sadly looking to rehome our 15 year old female tabby short hair. Between worsening cat allergies and signs of her being stressed out, our home is no longer a good fit for her.
I think she would be a good fit in a home *without* children; she started to show signs of stress when our baby started to be mobile and years later is still very scared to be in the room with children.
She loves to be in the same room as adults and will lie on the floor at your feet and purr, or curl up on your stomach or back if you are lying down. She's happily an indoor cat, though she likes sitting on a porch or windowsill to watch the outside world. We've had her since she was a kitten, and while she's definitely slowed down she's otherwise pretty healthy and may still have a good 5+ years left. She loves the cat dancer toy and chasing moths or bugs.
She's never lived with dogs, and prefers to hide when dogs come to visit us; I don't think living with dogs would be a good fit.
She did live happily with another cat until he died a few years ago; I think she would be be OK in a multi-cat household again as long as she has a corner or nook that is "hers".
Health:
* fully vaccinated and spayed
* has latent FHV-1, a virus which sometimes causes conjunctivitis in cats
* has a lil bump the size of a walnut on her back; we've had it biopsied and it was found to be a benign cyst
* the hard part: she has poop accidents regularly. She does pee in the litter box consistently. The two vets we saw didn't find any biological reason for her to poop on the floor, so they think it's related to her feeling stressed out. She might get back into proper litter box usage in a new housing situation or she might not. I really don't want her to go through the stress of rehoming twice, please think about whether this is something you can manage.
We'd be happy to rehome her with her toys, carrier, grooming tools, dishes, food, etc.
