High: 83 Low: 74. Here are the top three stories in Charleston today: Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg has tested positive for COVID-19. The mayor is reportedly in isolation with mild, head cold-type symptoms, according to city officials. The mayor is fully vaccinated and boosted. He will be participating in future City Council meetings virtually. (WCBD News 2)Four Charleston babies have been admitted to the hospital due to the ongoing baby formula shortage. Three of the babies had a bad allergic reaction to new formulas, according to Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital staff. The fourth baby was hospitalized due to a mineral imbalance from a homemade formula that a parent tried to mix. (wpde.com)Two affordable housing projects are asking for additional funds from the City of Charleston. The funds are reportedly needed to fill in financial gaps caused by supply chain issues and higher interest rates. The first developer is renovating the old Archer School on Nassau Street and the second developer is a planned senior affordable housing community named The Gateway at Charleston.
